Day 23

Day 23 - Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Snider's Rustic Inn, Thayne, WY to Pocatello, ID

In our first major deviation from our original plan, we decided to give Idaho another shot and passed on the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area in southern WY and northern UT. Thanks to Priceline once again we got a great deal at a Red Lion in Pocatello, ID. Our drive that day took us along part of the Oregon Trail, which is now RT-30 scenic byway, but we still reached Pocatello in the early afternoon. Tara dropped me off at Riverside Golf Course and I played with another set of rentals, shooting an identical 92. Tara meanwhile went to some of her favorite stores and got her toes painted a radioactive orange.
We attempted to satisfy Tara's craving for Chinese food that she has harbored since Chicago by going to the Mandarin Express. Still not very satisfied we returned to the Red Lion for the night, rubbing the belly of a cute puppy that was being walked in the parking lot before entering the Hotel.
